An Overview of The Charity's Work
Marie Curie Cancer Care is facing up to its biggest challenge as we head further into the new Millennium. Faced with an ageing population and soaring demand for their services, the charity continues to invest in it's key areas of activity, details of which can be found on the Marie Curie website or by contacting the charity direct.
Facts and Figures
Marie Curie Nurses provide over 1.1 million hours a year of practical nursing care at home for over 50% of people seriously ill at home with cancer. The charity has a network of Marie Curie Nurses around the UK, over 4,000 employees, and its expenditure is regularly increasing to meet demand.

A Brief History

The charity was founded in 1948 as the Marie Curie Memorial Foundation "to attack and allay the disease of cancer and to alleviate the suffering and promote the welfare and relief of persons afflicted with the disease".
Marie Curie Cancer Care is now the UK's largest and most comprehensive cancer care charity. All of our vital services are provided free of charge.
